USPF Amateur Championships - June 19, 2010

8:00 a.m.    Tuning Rooms will open.
9:00 a.m.    Amateur Piobaireachd will commence in Lecture Hall 207.
9:00 a.m.    Amateur MS&R will commence in lower floor Practice Room.

You will receive your selection and order of play, one to two weeks prior to the competition date of June 19, 2010. In order that this may be accomplished in a timely manner, the entry deadline for all competitions is MAY 8, 2010.

The Amateur Competitions are restricted to Grade I competitors. Each contestant will submit four (4) Piobaireachd selections of one's own choice. The contestant will be required to play one selection.

The March, Strathspey and Reel Competition requires each contestant to submit four marches, four strathspeys and four reels. The judges' selections will be sent out 10-14 days prior to the competition.

The competitor with the highest point accumulation from the Piobaireachd and MS&R competitions will receive round trip airfare to Scotland and two weeks tuition at an approved venue in Scotland. The overall winner also receives the USPF Silver Buckle. Scholarships will be awarded to approved Piping Schools for overall placements in the following amounts:- 2nd Place - $700; 3rd Place - $600; 4th Place - $500; 5th Place - $400;

Points are computed on the basis of:
